About

Ivan Quintana

Ivan Quintana was born and raised in Chihuahua, Mexico and immigrated to the United States in search of better opportunities. As a first-generation college graduate from Arizona State University (ASU) and Mesa Community College (MCC). He is a Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholar and recipient of the 2022 ASU Martin Luther King Jr. Student Servant-Leadership award.

He is currently the Grants Program Specialist for the Migrant Education Program at the Arizona Department of Education. For Ivan, it is an honor to work with a passionate and talented  team ensuring the academic success of migrants. Prior to this role, Ivan held positions with TRiO Student Support Services program at Mesa Community College, and the AmeriCorps Arizona Ready for College and Career Initiative program based out of the Northern Arizona University Center for Service and Volunteerism.

He believes that education can provide limitless opportunities and improve the quality of life for families. Ivan has experienced this first hand, since his parents made many sacrifices to ensure that him and his brothers had a better future. All three are proud first-generation, low-income college students and university graduates. He hopes to spend his life being able to create opportunities that create joy and happiness for many generations to come.
