About

Edward Aguirre

Edward J. Aguirre Jr., a loving son, brother, tío, and grandson, passed away on May 3, 2022, at the age of 26. Born in Tucson, Edward was raised in the communities of Hayden and Winkelman. He enrolled into the Central Arizona College and Northern Arizona University concurrent enrollment program and received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2018. His nursing career began at the Banner Casa Grande Medical Center as a Medical ICU Nurse. Edward had a passion for cardiothoracics and was overjoyed when he landed a job in Phoenix as a Cardiothoracic ICU nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center.

Edward was an adventurous, comical, and loving soul who brought joy to everyone around him. He had an infectious smile and matching energy that illuminated any room. He was a skilled and compassionate nurse who gave amazing care to his patients and their families. Edward carried this selfless attitude into the love he gifted his family and friends. As an example, they were sure to be cheered up by him bursting into song and dance, especially to Lady Gaga. Edward was a self-taught pianist and karaoke superstar. Edward enjoyed hiking, biking, running marathons, and especially sand volleyball. As a travel enthusiast, Edward made recent trips to Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, Mexico and along the western coast. Every chance he got, Edward indulged in seafood and mastered his own spicy seafood boil. Edward was known as a leader in his community and was a graduate of Valle del Sol’s Hispanic Leadership Institute—Copper Corridor, Class of 2016.
