David Hansen is Vice President of Fossil Generation for Arizona Public Service Company (APS). Based in Phoenix, APS is Arizona’s largest electric company and serves 1.2 million customers across the state. In his position, Hansen is responsible for all facets of the company’s fossil generation operations, maintenance, and engineering at nine facilities in Arizona and New Mexico. 

Prior to assuming his current duties, Hansen was Vice President, Power Marketing and Trading and most recently Vice President, Fossil Operations. His responsibilities have included bulk power marketing and commodity trading activities and the financial and physical operation and maintenance of more than 6,500 megawatts of coal and natural gas-fired generation. Hansen began his career at APS in 1980 in the mailroom and progressed through a variety of power plant positions.

Hansen is active in community endeavors and serves on the board of trustees for the Heard Museum.
