About

Adriana Garcia Maximiliano

Adriana Garcia Maximiliano is Chief of Staff to Vice Mayor Carlos Garcia at the City of Phoenix, serving the residents of District 8. A community organizer by craft, Adriana has worked in Arizona for various political and issue-based campaigns in the last decade. Before going into public service, she recruited and trained immigrant leaders all over the country to run for office or run campaigns of new American majority candidates as the Manager of Alumni Programs at New American Leaders.

Formerly undocumented herself, Adriana has grounded her work in her family’s lived experience. While in public service, Adriana was a key player in establishing the Office of Accountability and Transparency at the City of Phoenix, which is the first civilian oversight office that includes investigation powers over the police department. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Adriana ensured that underserved neighborhoods and constituencies received significant investments from the city.

Currently, Adriana proudly serves as the Co-Chair of Planned Parenthood Advocates of Arizona and as a member of the Arizona State Commission on Trails. She is an alumna of Grand Canyon University, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, Valle del Sol’s Hispanic Leadership Institute, New American Leaders, and Center for American Progress’ Leadership Institute. She is a Flinn-Brown Center for Civic Leadership Academy Fellow and a Monzon Fellow.
